We were so busy at camp today that I only had time to snap a few photos. We started the morning with campers inventing and practicing spells to be ready for when we finish our wands. We then had a hike to the wand tree, where we discovered the flying squirrel leader had responded to our offering from yesterday with a message (shown below in photos). We all harvested wands and then campers used sanding blocks, whittling knives, or both to make magic wands. On the way back, we learned to recognize a blueberry shrub. Back at the campsite, campers worked on adding lattice and insulation to their shelters then we had a nice lunch break. After lunch we made a ceremonial fire and shared gratitude for each other and for nature, and then hiked to the beach to cool off.
