New kiddo Chance had a marvelous first outing at Appleton yesterday! He was a confident leader the entire time, even while encountering some scary pigs!

When you truly understand what your horse is going through—whether it’s confusion, tension, or just a tough day—it becomes much easier to meet them with patience instead of frustration.

Empathy isn’t just a warm-and-fuzzy concept. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡, 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙗𝙤𝙭. When you approach your horse’s struggles from a place of understanding, you open the door to more consistent communication and trust.

But here’s the catch: 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚. It takes intention, awareness, and sometimes a hard look at how we react when things don’t go to plan.
