As we move into wildland fire season, we pause for Fallen Wildland Firefighter Remembrance Week, June 30 – July 6, to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

At 406 Disaster Response, we are a local disaster restoration company with deep respect for, and personal ties to, the wildland fire community. This remembrance is more than a date on the calendar. We recognize the weight carried by crews, families, friends, and communities when someone does not come home.

This week, we remember their courage, their service, and the legacy they leave behind. We keep their loved ones in our hearts, and we stand with every wildland firefighter still answering the call.

For those who feel called to give, the Wildland Firefighter Foundation supports injured wildland firefighters and the families of fallen firefighters. You can join the 52 Club with an annual $52 donation, or give any amount you are comfortable with to support their mission.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

At 406 Disaster Response, we are more than a local disaster restoration company. We are a Wildland Fire family. June 30 is deeply personal to us and carries a weight that is hard to put into words. Even after 13 years.

June 30 marks the beginning of Wildland Firefighter Remembrance Week, a time to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. It is also the anniversary of the Yarnell Hill Fire.

On June 30, 2013, 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives.

To us and so many others, they were more than their uniforms. They were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, colleagues, and friends. They were part of a fire family that still feels their absence. Their legacy continues to shape the wildland fire community today.

During Wildland Firefighter Remembrance Week, we remember and honor all wildland firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we keep their loved ones in our hearts.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
