Have you ever wondered who's behind many of the trails we enjoy? Billings TrailNet plays a key role!

On this World Bicycle Day, we honor Willard E. Fraser, Mayor of Billings from 1963-1969 and 1971-1972. A bicycle aficionado, he rode for health and environmental benefits. He wrote to a young student who inquired about air pollution, “I hope you are a non-smoking bicycle rider.” He rode a bike up to ten miles a day after his 1970 hip surgery, and the bicycle became a symbol of his 1971 campaign. 🚴

Join us next Thursday, June 11 at 1:30 PM at the Willard Fraser Bridge for a ribbon cutting ceremony to honor Mayor Fraser (hosted by the Yellowstone Historical Society). Optional ride starting at 1:00 PM from 105 Brewing!

T’was wet and wonderful!

Billings TrailNet supporters are over the moon about today’s inaugural Skyline Races.

Two of the city’s newest trails welcomed hundreds of runners in this new Billings event!

These amazing paths were among the day’s brightest stars: Dutcher, Black Otter, Alkali Creek and the new Skyline and Skyway Drive trails.

The half marathon and 30k races were a great, rainy experience for runners, volunteers and spectators.

Many thanks to Billings Skyline Races for its donation to Billings TrailNet and its support of the city’s trail system.

Billings loves its trails!
