Mendy Sutherland - Artist

It’s been a while. Funny thing is I was planning all week to work on a series from some of my vacation photos. Instead when I finally sat down I decided to do a quick painting of Roy Roo Orbison.

Wow. It’s been over 9 months since I painted anything. Of course it’s been about that long since we had snow. Friendsgiving was scrapped thanks to the weather but it did give me the opportunity to get some time in the studio. Acrylic on canvas 8x8.

Yesterday I stopped in for some palette knives because I really enjoyed my Square Butte painting. My selection being limited thought I should pick up a few more options should the mood strike. Art’s has a lovely window front display of plants which I was admiring before I even walked in. Turns out she had a couple cuttings from her Begonia to give me and so I thought I’d see if I could propagate them. I already had one that didn’t make it but these two perked up today.
