As we move into fall, we’re celebrating the momentum of service, from building community gardens with VINES:Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments during United Way of Broome County's Day of Caring to connecting statewide with the Siena College cohort, and welcoming new members while highlighting returning ones.

This issue, Forward Together: Momentum in Service, captures stories of collaboration, reflection, and impact from across our Rural Health Service Corps VISTA program.

Recently, Rural Health Network AmeriCorps VISTA member Deacon Hogan was invited to share information about health access in rural communities on an episode of WCNY's Cycle of Health show. Based on the results of his VISTA project conducting surveys and focus groups with rural community members, Deacon discussed the many barriers and potential solutions for getting rural people the healthcare that they need. The episode will air in May; stay tuned for your chance to watch the show!
