The Law & the Spirit

Scripture:
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jeremiah 31:33
Reflection:
Before Christ came, the prophet Jeremiah spoke of a time when God would redeem His people and put His law within them and write it on their hearts. After Christ came, the writer of Hebrews repeated this reminder - “I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts..” (Hebrews 8:10)

When Christ ascended, the Father sent the Comforter - the Holy Spirit - to teach and remind us of all Jesus taught and said. The law is to be within us, in our minds, and written on our hearts. The Holy Spirit holds the pen.

You see, it is impossible for us to follow Jesus faithfully - to know His love, to be loved, and to love others well without the Spirit’s help. None can come to Him, unless the Father draws… (John 6:44)

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, as I read this morning, write Your words on my heart. As a meditate on Your words, show me how to walk in Your truth and in Your love. As I encounter Your presence allow my convictions to become transformation. Renew my heart and my mind. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Found Again by Jesus

Scripture Focus:
“Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.’”
John 5:14

Reflection:
Jesus did not heal the man so he could simply walk away; Jesus healed him so he could walk differently. Grace is not only rescue from what held us down; it is also a call into a new life. Jesus finds us again, not to shame us, but to redirect us. The One who restores our strength also claims our steps. The blessing becomes an invitation to holiness, witness, and transformation.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for not leaving me where You found me. Teach me to walk differently because of Your mercy. Let my restored life become a reformed and transformed life. Let my steps honor the grace that made me whole. Amen.
