2021 Remembered in Photos

1 - In reflection I started to understand how much I really faced this year. Most of it was internal. A constant struggle of staying out of traps in my own mind. A back and forth with God on how worthy I might be. An enormous and inescapable doubt of how capable I am. Trial and triumph switching seats at the table. Me realizing the seat was open to the enemy. Learning how to uninvite him from the dinner party of my life and thoughts.
2 - Met a couple who are so glaringly obviously meant to be together. Got to capture their engagement and wedding. Witnessed pure joy and true love represented in choices. I cry at the thought of this day. Thank you + for the honor of achieving a major milestone by capturing you achieve one of your own.
3 - My first wedding photos. That kinda sorta happened as an accident. I showed up fully prepared to shoot a 2-3 hour party celebrating a recent elopement. I had no idea that I was shooting a wedding, with a dress, and rings, and vows. And it was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for an opportunity that opened my eyes. In the moments before the ceremony began, as I was realizing that a ceremony was about to begin, I held back tears. I was here. It was happening. Something I had dreamed of since I was a kid was right in front of me. Thank you + I wish you both a beautiful lifetime of adventures and gorgeous views of the earth stretched out in front of you. I was honored to have played a role in this celebration and to be witness to inspiring traditions.
4 - A third and final wedding in 2021. A longtime teammate of my brothers and his longtime girlfriend tied the knot. Perfect weather and loving friends and family gathered on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate with yet another couple that is glaringly, obviously meant to be together. I thought maybe as I photographed more weddings, they might become mundane or repetitive. What I learned was that each moment becomes more beautiful as it unfolds. The honor and humility grow as you realize the trust that is being given to you as the memories of this day live through the button you click.

Since 7th grade, I have always known Sydney would do something amazing… and now here she is, graduated from UAB, on her way to Samford (& lookin so darn cute doing it)! I am so proud of this beautiful friend of mine!!! Go Blazers💚, Go Bulldogs❤️, but most of all, Go Bucs 🧡

Happy graduation day to all the Samford seniors but especially this one!! Bailey is such a kind and genuine friend and even after a few years of not seeing each other, it was like no time had passed at all! One of the best parts of this job is getting to work with friends and family and getting to mark the milestones in their life with photos that speak to who they truly are.
