During the inspection the flow dial on the water meter at the street should always be viewed with all fixtures off inside the house. Movement of the triangular flow meter would then indicate a water leak such as a commode tank or even underground between the meter basin and the house.

We feel it's always important to note on the inspection report what some might call the "little things" because when buying a home a lot of those little things can add up. Refer to picture 1 showing a sloppy paint finish on an interior door and picture 2 a chewed front door frame both of which are cosmetic but knowing such information can let a buyer know how well a renovation was done or how well the house was maintained.
