Elect Joseph Casper Baker III

Congratulations to Councilor Abbott on winning her 6th term! It didn't go the way we hoped but the experience was rewarding. I hope that she redoubles her efforts and continues to serve District 3 as well as she can. We need strong leadership to move the district forward.
But disappointingly on the related topic: Birmingham, you did not show up to the polls today. A dismal 25.27% turnout city-wide for this. These elections matter. These people you haven't voted for have a lot of say over your day to day experience here. These people will affect you more than Presidents or Governors ever will. Y'all need to do better; please, for your own sakes.
And a deep heartfelt gratitude goes out to every supporter of mine. It means the world to me and I won't forget that. I believe we have shifted the conversation about what's needed and wanted in our community and that's a victory in and of itself.

Today is the day! Do your civic duty and vote!
