Rocky Ridge Fire District

Strong storms moved through our area overnight, keeping RRFD crews extremely busy through the night and into this morning.

Our firefighters responded to numerous incidents, including downed trees, transformer fires, and multiple interstate motor vehicle accidents caused by the severe weather. Crews worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to clear roadways, mitigate hazards, and keep the public safe.

We are proud of the outstanding work and professionalism displayed by all of our members during this weather event. Thank you to our dispatchers, utility crews, law enforcement partners, and surrounding agencies for their teamwork throughout the storm response.

Please continue to use caution while traveling, as there may still be debris, standing water, and isolated hazards throughout the area.

Great job by all involved!

Rocky Ridge Fire District
Week in Review: April 11 – April 17, 2026

This week, the Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 74 alarms.

Three of our members—Chief Baker, Lieutenant McCullough, and Lieutenant Laney—attended the Over-the-Mountain Regional Training Center’s Swift Water Certification course.

On Tuesday, we celebrated several birthdays with our office staff. Happy Birthday to Tammi, Minah and Shannon (“Heavenly Birthday”). On Wednesday, Chief Lord and Chief Bartlett delivered lunch to our telecommunicators at Jefferson County 9-1-1 ECD to show our appreciation during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Members tested various new hydrants at construction sites to ensure adequate water supply as development continues. Additionally, Chief Crumpton from our Fire Marshal’s Office attended training on updated codes related to underground storage tank requirements.

On-duty crews also began their Annual Evolution Assessments at the drill field this week—an important yearly job performance evaluation for our members.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend!
