This past weekend, Coca-Cola Amphitheater and KultureCity unveiled the new Don Lupo Sensory Room, a dedicated sensory-inclusive space designed to support fans with sensory processing needs attending live events at the venue. ❤️

Named in honor of longtime Birmingham community leader Don Lupo, the room features calming visuals, adjustable lighting, comfortable seating, noise-canceling headphones, weighted lap pads, fidget tools, and other sensory resources designed to help guests regulate and decompress during events.

“Twenty-five years ago, I met a nine-year-old girl that had been diagnosed with Autism; today, she is 34 and living a wonderful life because of those around her,” said Don Lupo. “She teaches those who come in contact with her throughout her life that an invisible disability isn’t a showstopper; for her, it’s an opportunity. KultureCity deals in opportunity, making the ‘nevers’ possible for so many individuals with invisible disabilities. I will forever be grateful for my young friend who has taught me about acceptance, and for KultureCity, which gives me the opportunity to practice that acceptance.”

The Don Lupo Sensory Room is part of Coca-Cola Amphitheater’s broader, ongoing sensory-inclusive initiative developed in partnership with Birmingham-based KultureCity.
