This will be the culminating set of performances of this co-commissioned work through the New Music USA Amplifying Voices Consortium. The other participating orchestras were Detroit Symphony, ROCO, Berkeley Symphony and Boston Landmarks Orchestra.
A wholehearted thanks to New Music USA, artistic administration and staff of all involved who made this groundbreaking initiative possible. Regardless of the times, I know these efforts will persist to ensure equity and representation across our art form.
Upon Daybreak | Brian Raphael Nabors Upon Daybreak for Orchestra is a 15-minute orchestral journey whose commission was made possible through New Music USA's Amplifying Voices program; commissioning a total of 9 composers from underrepresented groups who each have their own respective consortium of co-commissioning orchestras.
