END OF AN ERA ✈️🇺🇸 Last night, when POTUS departed France on Air Force One the word on street among WH staff that was most likely the last official flight for the 747 (VC-25A) with tail SAM 29000. It arrived at Joint Base Andrews AFB in Maryland at approximately 3:15AM this morning.

The iconic twin 747 have been in operation since 1990. Fun fact - The presidency had been flying on an out dated 707 and President Kennedy’s wife had picked out the iconic Robin Egg Blue in early 1960’s. President Reagan was still flying on the aircraft nearly three decades later and his administration helped purchase the upgrades to 747 with the same livery in late 1980’s.

It took several years to design and install the newer and much larger planes 747 with tail 28000 & 29000. President Reagan never had privilege to fly on the newer airplanes and Pres George HW Bush, Sr was first to enjoy that luxury. When President Reagan died they quickly flew the newer jet to pick up his casket and family from California to DC for his State Funeral. President Reagan never flew on the current Air Force One alive but only when deceased. For over three and half decades multiple U.S. Presidents have enjoyed these jumbo jets.

For 65 years the planes have had nearly same paint colors. The modified 747 gifted from Qatar will be part of the presidential fleet until the other two new 747 are completed. It is reported that the new plane will take President Trump on his first official flight as “Air Force One” in two weeks on July 3 to Mount Rushmore on the eve before America’s 250th birthday! The new color scheme is white, with navy blue, red and touch of gold with the famous UNITED STATES OF AMERICA racing in black down the fuselage. They have installed a larger American Flag on tail and presidential seal is predominately displayed up front.
