Am I saying Iāve never used ai? Nah, letās not lie to ourselves. When it comes to quick recipes and dinner ideas, schedule optimization and āwtf is this spot on my arm??ā we all can be guilty of falling back on the internet because it is so convenient.
Iām saying when doing something as important as fostering a relationship with your community, AI does not deserve to be the governing voice. You know what you want to say, you know how you want your audience to feel, itās just a matter of channeling your energy to writing it out. And itās hard Iāll admit. As a society we have clutched to any and everything that makes life a little bit easier. But Iām telling you now, long-term, just do it yourself. Be real, have typos, use a word in the wrong way. It doesnāt discredit you to your audience (well, unless youāre like a literature professional then maybe double check it) but honestly people are just begging for authenticity.
In a world of AI jargon, just be you.
And stop paying ChatGPT, and get some real help š«¶š»āØ
I took some time and took a step back, I quit my day job and got a new one! But Iām still very much here in the weeds. Dry pitching and working on a social strategy of my own. Yall stay safe, especially if youāre in this GA, AL weather cycle like I am. Happy Tuesday, and Happy Masters to those who celebrate š

Itās crazy how something that started as just āhelping outā and sharing creative insight and strategy slowly become something I canāt imagine not doing.
Somewhere between the late nights, last minute client pivots, and āwait, we can make this workā moments, Iāve turned this into an actual business - like I make actual money yall!
What I do now isnāt just āposting contentā, itās helping develop an intentional feel to brands, one thatās aligned with where theyāre going and who they wanna be. And yes, also posting their content sometimes ;)
If you love social strategy, or maybe you just know me personally, Iām thankful youāre here! My website goes live live on Friday, until then the link in my bio is available if you wanna poke around and test for any bugs I may can fix in the meantimeš
Itās an exciting year in my household - Iām excited to take you guys along and share my journey with JC June along the way š¤šŖ©āØš°š¼āāļøšø

āJustā posting girrlllll donāt play me!
In all seriousness, we just talked about consistency, but the key is that itās hard to be consistent without strategy. And contrary to popular belief, as a social media manager itās my sole job to plan out the strategy for you.
Donāt understand socials or trends? Perfect! Thatās exactly why I have a job. You wouldnāt attempt to dig up your sewer system over a clogged toilet would you? I hope not. Youād just call your plumber.
Donāt flail your arms around in the ever changing waters of social media, just give me a call, Iāll do all the heavy lifting so you can sit back and sort inquiries.

Letās talk about the forbidden C word ~ consistency āØ
Consistently showing up online is not really an option in this day and age. With such over saturated markets in, well, pretty much every field, you cannot be someone posting just āwhen you think about itā and banking that clients are going to know to call you when itās go time.
And along with consistency is the importance of making your content work for you. āHannah itās hard to post four times a weekā maybe? But itās most likely only hard because youāre in this cycle;
āOh sh*t! We need to post todayā
*logs on to Canva, searches through templates for an hour
*30 more minutes later, completes draft 1
*take a 10 minute scrolling break - sees engaging content and thinks āugh! This is doing great! I need to make something like thisā
*goes back to canva, rearranges for 30 more minutes
*realizes what time it is, and that most of your audience is no longer active on socials, decides to push to tomorrow, still unhappy with the content created thus far
Seem familiar?? Itās exhausting! Thatās WHY you partner up with a strategist - I do all the research for you, develop WHAT we need to talk to your audience about for the coming weeks and HOW weāre going to do it. Every single post has a job, and you must know that job in order to create the copy and manage the designs.
Also, if youāre spending hours designing on canva, thatās a signal of weak branding. You should know the look and feel of your content like the back of your hand, and it shouldnāt change. Changing up your branding confuses your audience and prevents them from recognizing you.
Anyways, Tuesday AM rant for you all, but if Iām not keeping it real, I might as well pack it up. Itās time to be honest with yourself, your brand deserves better!

In a sea with this many fish, the last thing your brand can afford is to NOT stand out. Sometimes, the small difference in standing out lies within the clarifying details. āØš
If you donāt know who you are, enough to have it marked and put out clear as day, your audience doesnāt either. And trust, theyāre not going to spend 1 second attempting to figure it out.
I took a leap to start my business venture knowing that I wanted to offer multiple services but not sure how to separate the two, if i should separate the two, and then I had this weird feeling about keeping my personal account separate when so much of who I am is integrated in this business. But now itās become more obvious that not only is keeping them together limiting the type of content I can create and post, but itās confusing to potential clients.
I took some time to make my brand clear, I challenge you to do the same š not sure where to start? Drop a comment and we can do it together š¤šŖ©š©µāØ

Surely there should be some kind of award for hard lessons learned in the first two months of business. š¤
Maybe some of us get hit in the face sooner than othersā¦
honestly, Iād rather it be sooner. Because this is one of the hardest parts of being a social media manager that people donāt talk about. š
Last minute requests.
Business owners going rogue.
Begging clients to send content.
Hearing horror stories from other managers about strategies that never even get a chance to work.
And hereās the truth of it: Strategy only works if you actually follow it.
When I build a content plan, every post has a job. When content gets overridden every other day, youāre not testing strategy anymore⦠youāre just posting.
And that doesnāt help either of us.
Iām learning quickly that part of running this business isnāt just creating good strategy, itās protecting it. And just because JC June is new doesnāt mean momma hasnāt been doing this for a while yāall. āØ

I remember the day I wrote down the idea for JC June Collective.
I was sitting at my kitchen table with a pink notebook, scribbling color palette ideas, vision statements, goalsā¦essentially the why behind it all.
Iāve always weirdly resonated with butterflies. If I had a spirit animal, that would be it. And when I was casually trying to make the letters J and C feel cohesive for a logo mark, I smiled at the resemblance.
A little wink.
A reminder that weāre often more intuitive than we give ourselves credit for. Thatās the beautiful thing about branding to me.
It starts as chaos.
As creative dumping.
As ideas that donāt fully make sense yet.
And then slowly it becomes something real.
It turns into a logo. It turns into language. It turns into something you chase until one day you realize youāre living inside it.
Iām living inside of it, and itās better than I ever couldāve dreamed š«¶š»š©µāØ

Refreshing the website and finally took time to write out our story.
āOne day, walking the aisles of my hometown Walmart, I received a voice memo from Emilyāa dear college friend who had just launched Tim & Em Photo Video with her husband. Reflecting on our time working together in social media during our scholarship program, and after a moment of clarity during a church sermon, she reached out to ask if I would manage their social media.
I stood there, mouth open, completely stunned. I had been feeling creatively limited in my corporate role, wondering if I would ever have the chance to pursue something that truly used my gifts. That message felt like an answered prayer.
My introduction to the wedding world came from a one-weekend assistant coordinator gig. While the experience itself was less than ideal, the magic of weddings stuck with meāthe joy of celebrating something life-altering with the people you love most. After working with Emily for a few months, I knew I wanted to pursue this space. The question was: social media, events, weddings⦠how do I chase all of it?
For a while, that question went unanswered.
I had always heard, āIt only takes one person to believe in your dreams,ā but I didnāt understand how true that was until then. I had one personāand one Saviorāwho believed in me. Starting a business is terrifying, but if Emily hadnāt seen potential in me, and if God hadnāt planted that seed in her heart, I wouldnāt be here today.
The name JC June carries even more meaning. My twin brother and I used to dream of owning an event venueābuying land, building a barn, the whole thing. (Very Pinterest-core, I know.) JCH are our initials, and āJuneā is the middle name shared by my younger sister, mother, and grandmother. Wanting to honor all of us, JC June was bornāfirst as a hopeful new email account, long before I had money for a business, much less a venue. Now, years later, I carry that name with gratitude⦠and Jack can catch up on construction later.
It is a privilege and an honor to be part of your storyāwhether Iām cueing your grandmother to walk down the aisle or curating the moments that tell your story online.
The best things in life are shared.
Let me share this season with you.ā
