VTCC Cyber Team

Happy Hacking Holidays from the VTCC Cyber Team! Don’t let your family and visitors join your home network! Make sure to segment your network to keep those on the naughty list away from you.

These past 3 days members of the team, Cadets Grant Smith, Zac Harmeyer, Justin Perez, and Thomas Rydzewski, have been competing in the Army Central Command Best Cyber Warrior Competition and, after a hard fought battle, placed ‼️2nd overall ‼️out of 59 team, including active, reserve, and allied units.

Day one concluded with the team in first place and they maintained that lead until less than an hour before closing.

This past week the Cyber Team got to attend DEFCON in Las Vegas to gain more hands on security experience, as well as network with the tens of thousands of fellow hackers attending.
