We would like to congratulate Anton Neff for receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash award from Governor Holcomb and the State of Indiana. We have known Anton for 22 years now, and we can say it is amazing the dedication Anton gives to his county, and the people of his community. A majority of his time away from the office is spent serving his county in some way, whether it is attending meetings or conferences, spending the day riding over the snowy hills of Owen County with the highway department, spending the day with the EMS or the Sheriff’s department. His main desire is to learn more about the county he serves. Anton is also active at the state level where he serves as a board member and past President of the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) and is current President of the Indiana County Councils Association. He also was recently selected as Indiana’s representative on the National Association of Counties’ board of directors. In addition to the Sagamore award, Anton received the Arthur R. Himsel award at the AIC fall banquet. This is their highest honor named after Mr. Himsel, who was a long time Hendricks County Commissioner, and was the founder of the AIC. It is given to a county government elected official for their outstanding dedication and service in promoting county government in Indiana. We can think of no one more deserving to receive these awards than Anton. Anton’s love for his county, his state and his country is second to none. Congratulations Anton!!! We are proud of you!!!
