Great birding this weekend! This Great Gray Owl was found up in northern Minnesota.

Ever seen a rail? I hadn't really either, until today! Then I saw both an adult and baby Virginia Rail. Normally these birds are very secretive in the marsh but I think the drought in NY has made them venture out in to areas that are a little more open.

Snowy owl from a recent excursion up to Duluth/Superior. The owl has a green wing tag on so researchers can see who it is from afar!
