We were privileged to have Peter Sykes with us at the
Indiana University Jacobs School of Music last week for three days of performances and masterclasses on clavichord, harpsichord and organ. In addition to giving masterclasses on organ, harpsichord and clavichord, Professor Sykes performed a superb recital featuring music from the 16th to the 18th centuries on three different styles of clavichord: 17th- and 18th-century fretted clavichords on loan from their builder, Robert Duffy, and a large 5-octave Dolmetsch-Chickering unfretted clavichord donated to the department by the late Joan Benson.
