The 2026 Creative Writing Contests are open! Send us your poetry, fiction, and personal essays by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 20. Contests are open to ALL currently enrolled IWU students!
*Arthur W. Hinners & Louise Hinners Sipfle Poetry Prize, presented by the Academy of American Poets: submit up to 4-6 poems in a single document, $150 prize.
*Illinois Wesleyan University Department of English Prize for Short Fiction: submit up to 5,000 words of fiction, $150 prize
*Peter J. Theune Memorial Essay Prize: submit up to 5,000 words of creative nonfiction, $150 prize
