Collaboration has been the driving force behind National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductee Richard DiMarchi's extraordinary work. Bringing together expertise across disciplines, his groundbreaking research has helped lead to some of the most significant advances in modern medicine. 🔬🥼

After earning his doctorate in chemistry from Indiana University in 1979, DiMarchi joined Eli Lilly Research Laboratories, where he helped develop the first recombinant DNA (rDNA) drug — a chemically synthesized form of human insulin produced from insulin A and B chains. This achievement transformed diabetes treatment and helped pave the way for decades of scientific innovation.

DiMarchi's contributions have continued to shape the future of diabetes and obesity research, leading to life-changing therapies that have helped millions of people live longer, healthier lives.

Indiana University is delighted to congratulate the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music on winning a Regional Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Central Great Lakes Chapter for their rendition of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. 🩰🏅

Produced through a collaboration between WTIU and the Jacobs School, the production was nominated in the Arts/Entertainment – Long Form Content category as part of the 2025 Central Great Lakes Regional Emmy® Awards competition, which recognizes excellence in television and media production across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
