I was surrounded but nothing could enter
So it was Halloween night, my husband was out of town and the kids and I were relaxing around the house.
Everyone went to bed except me.
I stayed in the living room watching movies.
As I was getting into the movie, the house grew silent.
Then I heard it!
I heard a noise at the back door.
Then at the front, and even at the side door!!!
My face grew pale, You can imagine the fear that crept in.
For a split second anyways.
Then it hit me.
There are things going on around me, scary things, things that try to enter but can’t!
I’m blood bought!
I’m covered in the blood of Jesus Christ!
I know that I’m protected by angels and the Holy Spirit dwells in my home and INSIDE ME.
There was complete peace in my home while it was crazy outside.
I don’t know what the noises were but that mess wasn’t about to come inside my home!
WE ARE COVERED!
IT WILL PASSOVER!
The Lord said that we would have peace that we don’t understand and wouldn’t make sense.
It made perfect sense because it wasn’t me but He who abides in me!
It reminded me that as long as I have the Holy Spirit abiding within me then nothing can enter.
We have to continue to pursue His Holy Spirit.
We can’t get content in our relationship with God, we have to keep pursuing Him.
We have to keep learning and keep praying to our Lord to not let His Spirit leave us.
When you pray, pray as long as it takes until you get to that place of surrender.
REACH FOR HIM.
The Holy Spirit will reach for you.
He will lift you up.
And He will send His Holy Spirit to dwell within you if you let Him.
And then total chaos could be happening around you and you will still be at peace!
Nothing can enter!

“God, I can relate”
When our children are born, we look those innocent little faces in the eyes and we promise them the world. We always promise them that we’re going to do things better than how our parents did with us. Not because it was always bad, but just because we want to be the best parents we can be. That first little cry seems to break our hearts. And we will do anything just to take it away for them.
And that doesn’t change as they get older.
We always wanna be strong for our children. We always wanna be smart for them. We always want to provide the happiness and love for them. We just always want to give them our best.
We don’t care how good or bad they are. We still want them to feel like they are loved. We don’t care what they’ve done in the past we want them to feel like they can always try to do better. We don’t care if they’re the smartest kid, we still love them. They don’t even always have to prove themselves to us. We just love them for who they are and we want them because they are ours.
As they get older and hug us less. We long to hear their voice. And when they go through the most hurtful things they could possibly go through, we want them to know they can trust us and we’re always here for them.
And God feels the same about every one of us as we do our children but more.
We still wish we could take away their pain. We still wish that we could cast their burdens on us.
We wish that we could take their place.
As parents we are the ones to train them up and discipline them. This too can cause us to feel for them and just wish we could take their place.
I know I would give ANYTHING to take my kids place when it comes to pain or suffering.
Then I thought…..
That’s exactly what God did for us!
He sent His perfect son Jesus Christ.
And he took our place on that cross.
He saw all the sin and still said THEY ARE MINE AND I WANT TO REDEEM THEM!
I WILL TAKE THEIR PLACE!
He chose us!
Jesus went right in front of the king and didn’t try to defend himself.
He took the suffering that was intended for us.
And he walked right up to that mountain and let them hang him on that cross.
Because He loves us so much.
He loves us so much, HE TOOK OUR PLACE ON THAT CROSS.
I pray often that if I could take my child’s suffering instead of them then I will take it in a heartbeat.
I pray that if it’s possible let this cup pass from them but let it be according to his will and not my own because I know He knows what my children need and when they need it.
I trust Him.
And I can understand why He took our place..
Why He took the pain, the suffering, and the death.
He did it for us.
