The Tennessee Valley Authority will be conducting an annual test of its siren/warning system near Blue Ridge Dam today (July 18). The original time of the test has been extended through 6:30 p.m. ET.
Residents near the sirens can expect to hear a loud alarm for approximately three to five minutes. More than one audio test may take place in the 2 1/2 -hour time window. Sirens can be heard in Blue Ridge, Mineral Bluff, Copperhill, and McCaysville.
