Pretty girl Fallon got her first saddling yesterday evening and after a quick protest she handled it really well. We finally got to get the last of the matting out of her tail and she's now fully detangled. She's warming up to the idea of letting her personality really show and it's going to be a great one! She's officially available for adoption and will continue to get an education while she's here with us.

Great news! Rita and Sly both saw the vet yesterday and everything is coming along great! Rita is not pregnant and is now up to date on everything and available for adoption. Sly has dropped an enormous amount of weight and is now at a healthy weight, no longer needs medication, and can go out on pasture with a muzzle overnights! The vet was also very pleased with the progress on his hooves and his current soundness level.

Please give a warm welcome to our newest resident at the ranch! Sly! This sweet tank of a horse has been undergoing some hoof issues for the last couple years and his owner was at her wits end. We picked him up yesterday and took him straight to see the vet to get some new hoof x-rays and some medication to help him lose his excess weight. Despite the outward appearance of his feet, the x-rays look surprisingly promising and we believe that our equine team can get him comfortable again! He will be getting his first trim this evening and we are looking forward to documenting the entire process for his rehab. We feel that some good hoof work and diet will help this guy feel brand new again!

In other, not so exciting, news... our truck is down and has been in the shop since Monday! The alternator and computer that runs it have died and need to be replaced. We're looking at a bill around $1500 and for it to come out of the shop next week. In the meantime, someone has volunteered their truck for us to use, so we can still haul as needed.

Between Sly's vet bills and the upcoming truck repair cost we could really use a helping hoof! Please consider sending a tax deductible donation to us at the link below or to our venmo (), every penny is greatly appreciated and 100% of it goes right back to the animals (or their main hauling vehicle in this case). We are 100% volunteer operated and nobody gets paid for taking care of the animals out here.
