Before you start house hunting, get these 5 documents ready.
Most buyers don’t realize how much paperwork is involved until they’re already in love with a house and scrambling to pull it all together. Don’t let that be you.

Here’s what your lender is going to ask for:

1️⃣ Proof of Income: pay stubs, W-2s, or tax returns from the last two years
2️⃣ Bank Statements: typically the last 2-3 months to verify your down payment funds
3️⃣ Photo ID: government-issued, required at every stage
4️⃣ Credit Report: know your score before your lender pulls it. No surprises.
5️⃣ Employment Verification: lenders want to confirm where you work and how long you’ve been there

Getting these together before you start searching puts you in a much stronger position, and makes the whole process smoother from day one.
