Jake Cavanaugh Foundation

Many of you have been asking if we'll be hosting the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation St. Patrick's Day Celebration this year. The continued love and support means more to us than we can ever put into words. 💚💚💚❤️

Last year's event was better than we could have ever imagined. It truly felt like a family reunion — a beautiful gathering of the community Jake touched and so many who continue to support our mission.

That said, we have decided to take a break from the celebration this year. While the event is incredibly special, we also recognize the emotional toll it can carry. We plan to bring it back next year or the year after — so stay tuned.

Please know: the needs of families facing childhood cancer do not pause. Because of your generosity — through annual donations, sponsorships, and ongoing support — we are still here and committed to helping.

If you feel led to give, we have included a donation link in the comments below. And if you know a family with a child battling cancer who could use financial support, please reach out. We are always here to help and can explore additional funding options as needed.

Thanks to the upcoming BSHS vs BSSHS Dig for the Cure Volleyball Game on October 7th, we’ll be able to support Enrique’s family.

💛 Sparkle of Love 💛

We wanted to share a beautiful and brave story written by Nora Bunn, a 7 year old from St. Louis who faced cancer with incredible courage and compassion.

Before the end of her journey, the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation was honored to assist Nora and her family with support. Now, Nora’s light lives on through her book, Sparkle of Love — a story she wrote to help other kids facing cancer treatments.

Told through the eyes of a gentle unicorn named “Heart Love,” Nora shares her real-life experiences in a way that’s comforting, honest, and full of heart. Her goal was to make things just a little easier for other children doing hard and brave things in the hospital.

Nora passed away on March 6, 2025, but her message of love and hope continues to shine.
