Snowbird Season vs. Summer Traffic: Which Is More Dangerous?
Many South Florida residents notice heavier traffic during snowbird season, but summer brings its own unique driving risks.
During the winter months, Boca Raton roads fill with seasonal residents, visitors, and increased local activity. In the summer, however, the challenges often shift to:
✔️ Increased tourist traffic
✔️ Vacation travelers unfamiliar with local roads
✔️Teen drivers out of school
✔️ Sudden afternoon thunderstorms and reduced visibility
✔️More drivers towing boats, jet skis, and trailers
✔️ Distracted driving during summer travel
No matter the season, accidents can happen when drivers become distracted, fail to adjust to road conditions, or make careless decisions behind the wheel.
If you're involved in an accident, remember to:
✔️ Seek medical attention
✔️ Document the scene
✔️ Exchange information
✔️ Avoid discussing fault
✔️ Speak with an experienced attorney before dealing extensively with insurance companies
At Willis Law, P.A., we help accident victims throughout Boca Raton and South Florida protect their rights and pursue the compensation they deserve.
Stay safe this summer and drive defensively—especially during Florida's busiest travel months.

Understanding Florida PIP Insurance
Florida is a “no-fault” state, which means your own Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance is typically the first source of coverage after a car accident—regardless of who caused the crash.
PIP coverage can help pay for:
• Medical expenses
• Lost wages
• Certain accident-related costs
In Florida, drivers are required to carry PIP coverage, but many people don’t realize there are important limits and deadlines involved. PIP generally covers:
✔️ Up to 80% of medical expenses
✔️ Up to 60% of lost wages
✔️ Coverage up to policy limits, typically $10,000
However, serious injuries may allow you to step outside the no-fault system and pursue compensation from the at-fault driver for additional damages, including pain and suffering.
Insurance claims can quickly become complicated after an accident. At Willis Law, P.A. in Boca Raton, we help clients understand their rights, navigate insurance issues, and fight for the compensation they deserve.
