The Story of Knight Watch

Knight Watch was founded in 2011 by a gentleman whose passion for luxury timepieces permeated into every aspect of life. The elegance of the designs, and the intricacies of the mechanical movements enraptured his mind, creating vivid dreams of wearing and enjoying these fine works of art. This eventually became a reality, and what today is known as Knight Watch. We buy, sell, and trade some of the most elite timepieces with some of the most interesting people in the world. It didn’t start out that way though. In fact, it all began when our founder marveled at some of the high-end luxury timepieces his mentors, role-models, and high-powered business friends were wearing. The wrist accessory stood for more than just a way of keeping track of time. It was a status element, a work of art, and a symbol that represented a goal.

After working hard in the field of sales, our founder wanted to procure a timepiece of his own. He ventured into one of the big-box dealers who specialize in selling high-end timepieces like Rolex, Breitling, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Panerai, etc. What he got out of the engagement, was a rude, high-pressure, and intimidating experience. The sales consultant at the boutique (that shall not-be-named) was a snob. He wasn’t helpful at all when it came to educating our founder on the different types of options available, what each brand had to offer, and seemed to care less about sharing how to maximize the value of the dollar to get something truly special. No, instead the consultant was about maximizing profit to meet his own quota, and made the experience a cold transaction. Our founder was just another number toward the monthly goal. This experience created some buyer’s remorse, and left a bad taste in the mouth. Even though the timepiece acquired (a Hamilton Railroad petite seconde) was, and still is a favorite in the collection for sentimental reasons, the representative did not do right by the customer.

This initial buying experience, complemented by a passion for learning more about luxury timepieces, led our founder to become an expert in the watch markets. The goal was to ensure that anyone who wanted to enjoy a luxury timepiece would not get screwed over by a jeweler, or sales-shark because of their lack of knowledge. He wanted to create a non-intimidating, friendly experience for people to come learn more about these works of art. Today, we still provide a fantastic experience. We do this because we love seeing people happy and enjoying some of the coolest man-made machines in the world on their wrist.
