Meet the Director of Singin’ in the Rain Jr!

Matthew has been a Substitute Teacher and Aftercare Counselor exclusively at one of the most prestigious public schools in the country for nearly 5 years and works with children ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. He’s acted in various plays and musicals since he was 17, and has studied directing through college, earning his Bachelors Degree in Theatre. Matthew has directed and assisted directed various plays during his time at FAU including his directorial debut with Alpha Psi Omega’s “Wonder of the World” written by David Lindsay-Abaire. When asked about Singin’ in the Rain Jr, Matthew said “I’m thrilled to get to direct this musical! Singin’ in the Rain was one of the movies that inspired me to become an actor! It felt right to get to direct this show as Altef Acting Academy’s first ever show!”

Introducing our Performance Space! This summer, Altef Acting Academy is Collaborating with The Studio at Mizner Park for our performances of Singin’ in the Rain Jr. in their Studio Theater! We are beyond excited for this opportunity and look forward to future collaborations!

We have extended our audition period! Auditions are now due by May 29th!

Rehearsals are June 17th to July 12th Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-5:30pm and July 12th 9am-5pm.
Performances are on July 13th at 12pm and 4pm. Actors will be called 9am-5pm
