Do you know what O-Zone means?

The Federal Government's newly created opportunity zone program for Real Estate investors. Now you can cut your income tax bill substantially while giving a much needed boost to economically distressed communities.
Anyone who generates profits from the sale of capital assets like stock in a company or real estate can participate in the program. You just need to invest those profits - within 180 days of realizing the gain - in a qualified opportunity fund, defined as an investment vehicle formed expressly to acquire and improve property located in any certified zones around the country. Investors won't have to pay taxes in that gain until 2027, as long as it remains in the opportunity fund and any increase in the value of the new investment will be Tax-Free after 10 years. There are still so much to talk about this subject, and in fact, the rules are still being finalized by the government. It's advisable to seek professional guidance before proceeding.
