Great start to this Monday was having the ASA announce a Nolle Prosse on two out of three felony counts and the one remaining count transferred to Juvenile court where we feel it should have been filed from the start!

Yesterday we were set for trial in Dade county on a case representing the “banana bandit”. Apparently our client threw his banana peels by the wrong person’s house. This person is CEO of a large HMO, major donor and buddies with the police chief and mayor. So they decided to make an example out of our client by charging him with 11 counts of “Stalking”! Yes someone at the SAO actually filed this! Only after months of fighting and Motions to Dismiss did the state finally amend the charges to what it should’ve been from the beginning- Littering - a non criminal infraction. This is where your tax payer dollars are spent in Dade county…

Adding to our ever growing list of eclectic cases…today we were hired to represent a person charged with “Stalking” after repeatedly throwing banana 🍌 peels near someone’s house while riding his bike. Yes I said Stalking. Win or lose (which we won’t) this case will be ApPEELed.
