There are days… like today… when being still forces reflection.

In that quiet, I find myself missing a time that felt simpler. Not because it was perfect, but because it was quieter. The kind of quiet where learning came through feel… through time… through presence… not through a Constant stream of opinions, advice, and noise.

The horse world today is rich with information. Endlessly accessible. Instantly delivered. And while that is a gift in so many ways, it also asks something difficult of us… discernment.

It is a delicate line to walk… to grow, to learn, to run a business, to stay engaged… and yet not lose the quiet moments that matter most. The moments where nothing is being consumed, proven, or posted. Just felt.

Because the truth is… our horses have never needed the noise.

And sometimes I wonder if the real work isn’t just in learning more… but in learning what to let go of. How to step forward in a world that moves quickly… without losing the parts of ourselves that move slowly.

I don’t have the answer for balance. I’m not sure any of us truly do. But I do know this…
There is something deeply honest about longing for a slower rhythm and a sense of simplicity. There is something worth protecting in that feeling.

So maybe the goal isn’t to escape this fast-paced world…but to learn how to carry stillness within it…this stillness I observe in my herd of horses. To remain grounded… when everything else feels rushed in our humaness.

Because perhaps some of us were never meant to move quickly or to spin several plates…maybe that’s not something to fix…but something to honor.
