We haven’t posted in a while, but that’s because we’ve been busy doing what we do best, tree work.

It’s been four years since Done Rite Tree went through some major changes and looking back, all we can say is…

WHAT A JOURNEY 😎

We’ve learned a lot along the way. We’ve grown in skill, in strength, and in unity. Some crew members have moved on, new faces have joined, and every single one of them has helped shape who we are today. We’re incredibly grateful for the hard work, loyalty, and dedication of the entire team, past and present.

We’re not in competition with anyone. There’s room for all of us in the Treasure Valley to grow, thrive, and keep trees healthy and safe. That’s the goal, and it always has been.

And to our customers… THANK YOU. Your trust means everything. Because of you, our crews get to do what they love every day. You’ve kept us climbing, grinding, and growing, and we don’t take that for granted.

TCIA just shared a great article titled “Insurance Pruning: Cut Risks, Not Canopies.” It’s a timely and insightful read, especially as we’ve been getting more calls from customers needing trees pruned back from their roofs. Navigating these insurance-related requests can be tricky, but this article sheds light on the issues and helps explain how thoughtful, proper pruning, not rushed removals can actually reduce risk and preserve tree health.

Across neighborhoods in the U.S., something strange is happening. Homeowners are receiving notices from their insurance companies warning them, “Prune back those limbs overhanging your home or lose your coverage.” The offending branches? Those on trees that overhang roofs – even healthy, structurally sound trees and branches.

What might seem like a prudent safety policy is, in practice, triggering a wave of hasty removals, reckless pruning and potential long-term risk. The irony is thick; in trying to prevent damage, insurers often are creating the very conditions that make catastrophic failures more likely.
