The Idaho Center for the Book at Albertsons Library is proud to feature “Four Treasures of the Sky” tomorrow August 24 @‌librarycongress National Book Festival in Washington D.C! 🎉

“Four Treasures of the Sky” is a dazzling debut novel inspired by a true event in Idaho’s history. It introduces Daiyu, a fictional heroine who fights to claim her own story after being kidnapped and taken from China to America in the 1880s. Daiyu’s journey unfolds against the backdrop of intense anti-Chinese sentiment following the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. The book has earned many accolades including being named a New York Times Notable Book and Idaho Book of the Year in 2022.
Author Jenny Tinghui Zhang was born in Changchun, China, and now calls Austin, Texas home. Her work has graced the pages of many notable publications, and “Four Treasures” is her debut novel. Don’t miss this poignant exploration of resilience and the pursuit of one’s own story that Boise Public Radio called “an urgent story to explore.”
