🎃 The Witches of East Pierce (our admin team) brewed up some Halloween spirit at HQ today!
As families head out for trick-or-treating tonight, take a few extra moments to help keep everyone’s night safe and fun. 👇
🚗 Drive Safe
- Take it slow and stay alert in neighborhoods, little ghosts and goblins may be extra excited tonight.
- Watch carefully for trick-or-treaters near intersections, medians, and curbs, and pull in or out of driveways with care.
- Keep your focus on the road and save distractions (like your phone) for later.
- Turn headlights on early to spot children and families from a greater distance.
- Popular trick-or-treating hours are 5:30–9:30 p.m. — expect extra foot traffic and plenty of glowing costumes.
🚶♀️ Walk Safe
- Cross streets at corners or marked crosswalks, and take your time looking both ways.
- Keep heads up and devices down to stay aware of your surroundings.
- Make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
- Use sidewalks where you can, or walk facing traffic if there aren’t any.
- Watch for cars that are turning or backing up.
- Join kids under 12 for trick-or-treating fun, and for older ones heading out on their own, encourage them to stay with friends and choose familiar, well-lit routes.
🌧️ A quick weather note:
The National Weather Service reports wet and breezy conditions moving in tonight and continuing into Saturday. If you’re out for Halloween festivities or heading home later in the evening, be mindful of slick roads, watch for reduced visibility in the rain, and secure outdoor decorations before the wind picks up.
Wishing everyone a safe and spook-tacular Halloween from all of us at East Pierce Fire & Rescue! 🕸️
