Captivating Ambitious Creatives Through Effortlessly Elegant Brand and Website Design

05/07/2026

Apparently it was obvious! The signs were, clearly, extremely loud.

Little me was always making things, rearranging things, documenting everything (always wanted to be a YouTuber, now known as an “influencer”), romanticizing things, and treating every school project like it would immediately get me a job at Vogue post-grad.

(Then I dropped out twice… that’s a story for another reel, but clearly part of this plot line!)

So no, I guess there was never much doubt that I’d end up building a business around making other people’s ideas look, feel, and function like something real.

Have I always been over the top? Maybe.

I prefer “on brand.” 😉💗

I had 2 Pilates classes expire at my local studio last month.

I hadn’t gone for a few months because I became a pregnant teenager (at 28 yrs old, whatever) and had no energy to move my body in the first trimester.

I didn’t know the classes had an expiration date (that’s a separate discussion on some UX stuff, but we’ll save that for another day!), so I sent an email to ask what had happened.

Initially, they just told me they expired and that they only last for 3 months. They also offered to give me one class back.

Now let me just say… these classes are $40+ EACH. I wanted both back because that’s a hefty chunk of change!

And because of aforementioned UX problems they had, I truly didn’t know they were expiring ever, at all. So not in an entitled way, but in a semi-frustrated customer way, I asked if they would please consider giving me both classes back.

They did (with a new expiration date that I didn’t love, but could work with) and I didn’t have to lose over $80.

THAT WHOLE EXPERIENCE said wayyyyyy more to me about the studio as a brand vs. anything their logo ever would.

SO, this is your reminder that your logo is one teeny tiny piece of a brand.

The *real* value of your brand lies in how you treat clients and customers and what you want their experience to be.

Support small businesses this season (mine) by:

1. Gifting me something on this list, pls and thx

2. Taking my brand spankin’ new (and FREE) “Is Your Brand Doing the Heavy Lifting?” quiz so you can finally figure out why your brand feels like… kind of a frenemy 👀 (you know where the link is)

3. Snagging a spot on my calendar for your brand + web project before I head out on maternity leave early next year!

I’m booking projects through the end of February 2026 ❤️‍🔥
