Multimodal online learning environments are transforming the way we acquire knowledge. A recent conference paper "Multimodal Learning Analytics with Biosensors" produced by researchers at Montana State University sheds light on how we can elevate the learning experience through various interaction types such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic engagement.
Through the use of multiple biosensors like GSR, eye tracking, and facial expression analysis, their findings open up exciting possibilities for understanding how learners interact with online educational content. The research suggests that the design of interaction types plays a crucial role in learner engagement.
As we continue to adapt to the digital age of education, research like this is invaluable. It paves the way for innovative approaches that make learning not only informative but also enjoyable.

Eye contact is viewed to be an important part of social communication, but it can be challenging for individuals with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS).
We are featuring a study done by researchers at Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre (GNC) that found that almost half of the participants with 22q11.2DS reported feeling discomfort when making eye contact. Using our Screen Based Eye-tracking module, they found this subgroup also showed atypical visual scanning patterns of faces, including a lower amount of gaze in the eye region.
Take a look below to learn more about the findings of this study!
