Yesterday, we hosted our second annual Community Conversation at More than Words bookstore. This event featured a fireside chat between JP's CEO and President, Chastity Lord, JP Boston's Executive Director, Alison Carter Marlow, and Generation Hope's Founder and CEO, Nicole Lynn Lewis. Chastity, Alison, and Nicole discussed the complex challenges that student parents face. We are so grateful for the powerful experience!

Join us for a meaningful conversation about student parents with Alison Carter Marlow, Nicole Lynn Lewis and Chastity Lord—an important dialogue on the barriers student parents face and the role higher education can play in breaking cycles of poverty.
Single mothers represent a significant share of both families and college students, yet far too few complete their degrees. Together, we’ll center lived experiences, explore the link between education and economic mobility, and discuss actionable ways to better support student parents.

When moms win, families win - and communities win. That belief is part of the inspiration for the JP Legacy Award, which recognizes the children of JP alumni who are making an impact in their communities.
