Custom tented installations require a level of complexity only a seasoned pro knows how to handle. There are countless decisions and requirements staring from site assessments, electric capabilities, rain plans, guest comfort… the list goes on. Keep yourself sane and hire a damn planner!

What are the top three things I consider when looking for a venue?

Let me first caveat this by saying there are SO MANY details to consider when choosing a venue, ESPECIALLY if you are planning a tented wedding that does not include traditional amenities (restrooms, kitchen/prep space, potable water, permits, parking, staff, etc). I’m sharing the top three things I look for if the venue is full service and includes basic necessities!

1. GUEST EXPERIENCE - is there room to expand or areas for your guest to explore? Is there enough space to bring in lounge seating and allow guests more space to relax? Is there an expansive lawn or gardens for guests to watch the sunset or capture Pinterest worthy photos? My favorite venues are ones that have plenty of space for guests to interact, both in and outdoors.
2. NATURAL LIGHT - this is key for gorgeous, heirloom quality photos. Nothing can mimic the serene glow natural light has to offer.
3. RAIN PLAN - if 2023 taught us anything it’s that rain plans are a priority. Consider what your wedding will look like if it does rains and what the venue can offer. There are no wrong answers here, but it’s important to know you can have the wedding of your dreams regardless of weather.
