🪙 Join us for Ujima Cafe at Nubian Markets. Part social hour, part open office, we host these gatherings in collaboration with business and community members.
In this edition of Ujima Cafe, we will be co-hosting with Ujima's Coalition, Policy and Grassroots Organizing (CPGO) team. Join us for the launch of CPGO's Penny University! Ujima's Penny University is a space where people come together to build our collective understanding of political, social, and community issues through respectful discussion in a caring environment.
In centuries past, coffeehouses were hot spots for robust political discussions. For the penny that a coffee cost, one could receive a political education through conversation with one's peers, leading cafes to be nicknamed "penny universities." Ujima's CPGO member team invites you to join in the tradition of conversation over coffee at the first Ujima Penny University!
