This could be the most important week of the summer for the stock market.
Earnings season officially kicks off this week, and it’s a big one.

Roughly 30 S&P 500 companies report, with the spotlight firmly on the financial sector. Tuesday is the busiest day, with JPMorgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo all reporting. JPM and GS are priced to move about 4% and 5%. Then on Wednesday, we’ll hear from BlackRock and Morgan Stanley.

Outside of financials, ASML and Johnson & Johnson report Wednesday, followed by Taiwan Semiconductor, Netflix, GE Aerospace, and UnitedHealth on Thursday. NFLX is priced to move close to 9%. These companies will give us an early read on AI spending, consumer demand, healthcare, and industrial activity.

On the economic side, inflation takes center stage. Tuesday brings CPI, Wednesday brings PPI, and Thursday rounds out the week with Retail Sales. Headline CPI (YoY) is expected to
