Shocking fact for those who believe the birth scenes in movies 😅 >> your water / amniotic sac can tear at any point during labor, or not at all (babies can be born “en caul” with it intact as they emerge!) and there is no evidence showing a set timeline between water breaking and your baby’s birth!

A bigger indicator of your baby, being born sooner rather than later is their position (how high or low they are in your hips) and your contractions helping thin and open the cervix.

What about providers breaking water to “help move things along”? I’m posting a longer YouTube video about that this week, but evidence shows that it *can* shorten labor by about 30 minutes. When you start to realize how long labor typically is, 30 minutes is a drop in the bucket for an intervention that comes with a slew of risks . 😅

My water broke an hour and 15 minutes before my son was born, and you’ll find that “normal” can be water breaking (days) before labor even begins or right as the baby is being born.
