Archivolt Arthur

Early morning in Modena. After visiting the Pavarotti statue and the Ducal Palace, we continue on foot with a licensed local guide, moving through historic streets as the city comes to life—bicycles passing, locals starting their day.

This is where world experience matters. Traveling alongside a local expert, I pass on the insight gained from years on the road—knowing when to slow down, where to look, and how to experience a place beyond the highlights.

We make our way to Piazza Grande, home to the Preda Ringadora and Modena’s Cathedral—the historic and spiritual heart of the city.

We continue to Modena’s Ducal Palace was once the sumptuous residence of the Estense Court, from 1452 to 1859.

Today, it is home to the Military Academy, a Military Museum, and a library, with ceremonies still held in the Honour Court.

A splendid example of Baroque architecture, it remains one of the most important royal palaces of the 1600s.
