imaginary beasts returns with its much-loved Winter Panto tradition with a folksy and frisky take on a cherished classic:

The BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS
(A Prop-Trunk Pantomime!)

Prepare for a plot packed with perils, puns, and pure panto fun, perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.

Oh, what a worry in the Wayward Wood—Screech-Horn, the Bandit King, has wickedly nicked Fairy Fiddlehead’s magic! To win it back, she’ll need more than a wish; she’ll need to rely on her wits and a motley menagerie of merry misfits.

Enter Figaro—a donkey with an impossible dream to be a famous singer in the musical town of Bremen. But he won’t tread a lonely road for long! Soon he is joined by a woeful hound with a bad case of the blues; a finicky feline, particular about her purrs and paws; and a raddled rooster, who croons by the light of the moon.

Will this uncommon, comical crew find their rhythm in time to help the good fairy, or will they lose their way in the wild, wondrous Wayward Wood— where bandits, witches, and galumphing grizzlies aim to lead them astray?

This family-friendly frolic, spun with the company’s signature inventive charm, will run for a special preview weekend in Salem, MA, from November 22-23, followed by a full run at the Chelsea Theatre Works from December 5-14, 2025.

We are looking forward to attending the Elliot Norton Awards tonight to celebrate all of the nominees! We are thrilled to be included among so many of our friends and distinguished colleagues. Huzzah to all!

The real winners, of course, are Boston theatre goers. What a tremendous range of theatrical experiences our city has to offer!
