A Black History Story about my Great Grandmother, Bernadine SLAY Young. She served as a Washington County Justice Court Judge in Greenville for 25 years and spent another 15 years as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Metcalfe, MS. In 1983, she became the first African-American Justice Court Judge elected in Washington County, Mississippi.
She gives me motivation to keep pushing educational access through my work at ! Happy BHM!
