The first week of the STEM CURES educational project in Zaatari camp. This week, students learned about the field of engineering and invention and learned about the steps of engineering design.
The second phase of the STEM CURES Club:
In this phase, we focused on deepening understanding and translating concepts into tangible, realistic projects.
1. Exploring practical challenges
Choosing problems from their daily reality (such as improving their home environment or solving a small community problem).
We united children's teams to exchange ideas and work on solutions.
2. Applied engineering design
Applying engineering design steps in innovative ways, starting from defining the problem, then generating ideas, choosing the best ones, and reaching implementation and evaluation.
3. Presenting results
Organizing a project presentation day, where children present their solutions to their peers.
Discussing solutions and learning from mistakes in a positive atmosphere.
4. Encouraging future thinking
Discussing how these skills can be applied in their daily lives or in the future.
Enhancing the understanding that small solutions today can turn into great inventions later.
The objectives of the second phase
Enhancing creativity: by finding innovative solutions to the problems presented.
Building practical skills: by designing models and implementing them on the ground.
Encourage collaboration: Work as a team to find the best solutions.
Learn from failure: Understand that failure is a natural and important part of the learning process.
The first stage of the club...
STEM CURES is an educational platform that aims to enhance the skills of young people in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. ๐งช๐ป๐ง๐

STEM Club focuses on linking scientific theories to real-world applications, which helps students understand the importance of these fields in daily life and work.
2. Developing critical thinking and creativity skills:
Through distinctive projects such as designing robots or solving technical problems, the club works to enhance the critical thinking and creativity capabilities of its members.
3. Preparing the generation for future careers:
With the increasing demand for technical skills in the labor market, STEM Club helps students explore modern specializations such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and 3D printing.
4. Building team spirit and cooperation:
The club encourages teamwork through collaborative projects, which develops leadership and teamwork skills.
5. Promoting local innovation:

STEM for Syrian Refugees
In 2017, called to address the education crisis among Syrian refugees, Shirin Haddadin, a certified science teacher and her husband Ayman Halaseh a professional engineer, living in Stoneham, MA travelled to the Zaatari Syrian refugee camp and host community in Jordan with essential science education supplies, to deliver 5 engaging, reproducible STEM workshops for teachers and students that reached over 1,500 children.
In the summer 2018, we aim to expand the project to build additional classroom and teaching capacity in both the Zaatari and Azraq camps in addition to host communities by supplying classrooms with essential science education equipments, conduct training workshops for science teachers and organizing a fun science and engineering activities to introduce children to the beauty of science.
To make this project a success, we need volunteers to help with translation of teacher and student guides from english to arabic, and your generous donations to this gofundme page https://www.gofundme.com/7pavza-a-science-day-for-syrian-refugees?member=51826
