Coming up on June 20th!

06/02/2026

An art installation, RIFT: A Sonic Environment for Multi-Timescale Listening by artist Yuval Gurt, opens June 9th at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. This art installation is held in a walkable/wheelchair friendly space, was created with the Deaf community in mind, and is FREE to the public.

Inspired by the landscapes and geological forces of Iceland, RIFT fills the Main Hall of the WaterFire Arts Center with immersive waves of sound, vibration, and light. Through low-frequency sound, vibration, and a water channel running throughout the space, visitors can physically feel and visually experience resonant waves and rippling patterns moving through the space, creating an environment that extends beyond traditional listening.
