100 years of Black legacy on wheels. 🖤🛼
For this episode of Black in Boston, I sat down with the family behind Chez Vous Roller Skating Rink — a space that’s been more than a skating rink for generations of Boston families. It’s history, community, joy, and legacy all rolled into one.
Hearing what it means to keep a Black-owned family business alive for nearly a century? Whew. Special doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈🖤
“Black Rainbow” is one of the most important songs I’ve ever written because it asked me to be honest — about the harmful things I’ve heard said about the Q***r community, especially within Black spaces, and about my own ongoing journey of unlearning homophobia.
I never wanted this song to come from a place of judgment. I wanted it to come from truth, accountability, and love.
Blackness and Q***rness are not opposites. They coexist beautifully every single day.
Thank you to for bringing so much heart, honesty, and brilliance to this record.
This month and every month, I’m sending love to the Black Q***r community. You deserve safety, joy, celebration, and the freedom to exist fully as yourselves.
