Hey hey mural club team! We hope everyone has been having a great summer, and we can’t wait to see you all back in the fall! We wanted to highlight some of the amazing artwork our members have been creating over the summer, here’s what they have to say:

Well i’ve been trying to get my younger siblings into art so I try to take them to the park for a little painting day every once in a while and this is something I made on one of those days ! I also think wearable art is super cool as you have a physical memento of the time and effort you put in as well as a cool new piece of clothing from something you might not have worn before.

As part of my Austria dialogue, we created a design that could be repeated for a large scale textile derived from our experiences in Vienna. I made this abstracted woman figure and some moths inspired by artworks I saw in the city. We then worked in a studio to burn a screen and screen print our textile piece as well as totes, bandanas, shirts, etc! Our final assignment was to site the textile so my concept was around backlighting and motion. It was a lot of fun and a great experience :D

I painted this little canvas over the course of a month or so using acrylics! it’s sort of a take on vulnerability and mourning a version of yourself that you’ve lost. :)
