One of our former Advocates shares what it meant to walk alongside a client whose family had experienced homelessness for generations and what it was like to be part of the moment that changed everything.
Moments like that don’t happen by accident. They happen because Advocates show up. Because families are given the tools they need. Because funds like CHAF remove the barriers that stand between a family and a home security deposits, first month’s rent, moving costs.
That’s what makes this work possible. That’s what makes cycles breakable.

Yesterday, The Community Housing Assistance Fund (CHAF) Kickoff brought together realtors, supporters, and community partners and together, we raised $65,000 (including a $20,000 match!) to help families cover move-in costs.
The heat didn’t stop anyone from showing up. Neither did the ask.
Attendees stuffed welcome home kits, wrote letters that will go to clients, and honored the legacy of David Pap a longtime supporter whose wife accepted a beautiful award on his behalf.
This is what community looks like when it shows up for home.
